Policy on Admission, Wait List, and Fees

Tuition Fees: Infants $67.50/day, Preschoolers $63/day (effective May 2024). Fees must be paid in advance monthly. A deposit equal to one month’s fee is required. If overdue beyond 1 month, child may be dismissed.

Closures: Parents must pay fees during Centre closures, including holidays, weather disruptions, or absences. Doctor’s note is required for absences longer than 5 days.

Admission Process: Children aged 6 months to 6 years accepted. Applications must be submitted via email or in person using the official form. A month’s written notice is required for withdrawal.

Wait List Management: Priority order:

Siblings of currently enrolled children
Children of current, eligible full-time staff
Children of active board members
Children of eligible Inuit parents to maintain 50% enrolment

Priority Specifics: Staff must work full-time for 30+ days and remain employed for 2 years. Board members must serve for 6+ months. Inuit priority ensures funding eligibility through Kakivak Association.

Funding: Kakivak-supported families pay the difference between full tuition and subsidy. ELCC $10/day childcare agreement in place until March 31, 2026.

The Executive Director and Board of Directors reserve the right to manage the waitlist in the Centre’s best interest.
